Summer Staff
Summer programming and noncom training and mentoring is lead by a small team of staff members, most of whom are former noncoms themselves.
Noncoms
At Camp Nathanael we call the young men that devote their summer to lead cabins and participate on dish and ground crew Noncoms (i.e. non-commissioned officers). They raise support to be able to serve at camp each summer. Noncoms spend two weeks in intensive training and then are mentored and coached as they serve in a variety of roles through the summer. Spending a week at camp as a camper is a ton of fun, but spending a summer as a noncom is literally life-changing.

Freshman Work Crew
Guys who are entering ninth grade and above may apply to serve on Freshman Work Crew. FWC is a one week volunteer position serving on either dish crew or grounds crew. Most FWC members also attend a week as a camper.

We have a group of super-volunteers that help us by taking responsibility for maintaining vehicles, keeping skill areas in good repair, help with skilled labor tasks, and help in many other ways.
